THERMOGRAPHY ASSISTS WITH COLD AIR LEAKAGE PROBLEMS
Thermoscan was recently requested to carry out an inspection to see if we could identify where the cold air was leaking from a large cold storage facility in Brisbane, QLD.
The area under investigation was a freezer storage room where the energy costs were higher than predicted, which lead the facility manager to question the possibility of energy loss?
Thermoscan undertook the inspection of the area of concern and identifed a number of potential leaks arounf the structural columns supporting the building roof to where the cold room was situated.
The thermal inspection confirmed the Facility Manager’s thoughts and concerns. Rectification was arranged to prevent the cold air loss from around the columns.
Thermal imaging is a low cost, effective method of protecting your business’s assets and giving you peace of mind. It is an essential part of every commercial and industrial business’s preventative maintenance plan.
Specialised and highly sensitive equipment is used by a skilled technician to identify equipment faults that are not visible to the naked eye. The thermal images are accurate to one tenth of a degree and will show if there is a temperature differential between building elements.
Thermal imaging can also be used to detect if thermal insulation is missing from wall and ceiling cavities, as well as identifying moisture ingress.
